HEADLINERS EEI Receives POEA Award of Excellence The Philippine Overseas Employment Agency (POEA) bestowed on EEI Corporation the 1999-2000 Award of Excellence in recognition of the company’s leadership in manpower deployment in overseas projects, foreign exchange generation, social responsibility and employee welfare. This marks the fifth time EEI has won the award, the others being in 1994, 1995, 1996 and 1998. EEI has also won the POEA’s Top Performer Award three times, thus elevating the company to the POEA’s Hall of Fame. EEI Corporation had at one time deployed over 8,000 workers in a single project overseas. At present, EEI has more than 2,400 workers in its various construction projects in the Middle East, Africa and Singapore. Subsidiary Gulf Asia International Corporation (GAIC) is also engaged in manpower deployment of professionals and contractual workers to Libya, Middle East, Malaysia, Singapore and the United States.
